    Proudly Serving Seniors
    Since 1967
The WALKs themselves are short in nature, more like a parade of supporters to give a face to the mission of the Council on Aging. We walk to make known that our elderly population is an important part of our communities and that for those who need some help to remain self-sufficient, we’re here to provide the services. The WALKs are our fundraising events that enable us to draw down the matching State and Federal funds that sustain the delivery of these services.
    Measuring Success
    2010 Walk Fundraiser
It was a whirlwind of celebrations. With three “WALK”s all happening within twenty four hours of each other; we were breathless but very happy.

From the attendance of Mayor Barringer at the New Smyrna Beach Walk and Mayor Apgar, Grand Marshall at the DeLand Walk, to our delightful ever-present Frank Heckman at our Daytona Beach Walk; we were well represented in major public figures. We had great entertainers volunteering at each event and wonderful picnic donations, especially the Knights of Columbus in New Smyrna Beach again preparing lunch for all in their 10th year. And, of course our participants, young, old and in between, canine and feline…we had it all, and lucky us. Thank you all!
