5K Run for Meals on Wheels
and Other Senior Services
In 2002
Council on Aging established an annual fundraiser, 5K Run for Meals on Wheels, to support nutrition services; in 2004 it was expanded
to include other grant funded services.
This added fundraiser compliments the Walk Fundraiser and helps to generate additional funds
which are used to meet a portion of the local match requirement of the Federal and State grants.
This annual spring event draws approximately 250 avid runners from across central Florida and tourist visting our area beaches. We offer special thanks to the management of LPGA for providing the beautiful grounds to host the race and our many sponsors for their dedication in support of the seniors in our communities.
